Cause of stubborn fire under investigation
LACROSSE, Wis. – Firefighters streamed water from aerial trucks onto a house for 2-1/2 hours before it was out. The house was declared unlivable, at least for now, from fire, smoke and water damage. The family escaped before firefighters arrived. That was about 3 p,m. The house was in the upscale Brackenwood Court neighborhood off County Road B southeast of LaCrosse.
