WHITEHALL, Wis. — Sheriff Brett Semingson said his deputies will respond to calls to remove individuals who refuse to leave the premises of Trempealeau County businesses requiring COVID-19 face-coverings but won’t bother with other mask complaints. Semingson said citizens are taking actions voluntarily to prevent the spread of the virus. The goal of the governor’s order, he said, is compliance through education. The order isn’t meant to be punitive, he said.
