ROCHESTER, Minn. – State Senator Carla Nelson, R-Rochester, is working on a bill to require insurance companies to pay for early screening against cancer. Nelson used the announcement of her own cancer to pitch her bill. Nelson was diagnosed with breast cancer in December. The cancer, she said, was caught through advanced testing and has retreated. “The only reason I found out was advanced diagnostic screenings,” she said.
