HIXTON, Wis. — Police arrested an Isanti, Minnesota, man after a chase that began on Interstate 94 at Hixton and reached 104 mph and ended up north in the next county. Arrested was Kyle Lee Flanagan, 25, whose car, disabled by police tire-deflation devices, went into a ditch. Police said that Flanagan ran but was quickly apprehended. In custody, police said, Flanagan gave police a false name. He was charged with fleeing an officer, operating a stolen car, possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and obstructing an officer. The chase began about 9:30 p.m. when a State Patrol officer tried to stop a suspect vehicle. The State Patrol officer pulled back when the chase reached dangerous speeds but radioed the vehicle’s description to other agencies. Jackson County deputies located the vehicle on Highway 121 near North Pole Grove Road and attempted a traffic stop. It didn’t work. The chase resumed. through Alma Center and Merrillan before deputies deployed the tire deflation device. It turned out that Flanagan had several active warrants from Ramsey County, Minnesota, and was operating a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Waunakee near Madison.
