ELBA, Minn. – Whitewater State Park will be closed to all visitors Thursday and Friday, Nov. 21 and 22 for a special deer hunt to control the deer population. Tavis Westbrook, the state natural resource program coordinator, sad too many deer can start to throw off the balance of other species. The state deer herd is estimated at an unusually high 350,000 this fall.
