ST. PAUL, Minn. – The state Democratic chair shook his head in delighted if not distressed disbelief as he watched the Republican gubernatorial forum in Plymouth last week. What he heard. said Ken Martin, was baseless conspiracy theories and unsubstantiated doubts about election fraud — and not just from the one or two extremists but from all five. “These conspiracy theories make it clear that all five Republican candidates for governor have more allegiance to Donald Trump than they do to Minnesotans and our democracy,” Martin said. “Every candidate launched baseless and reprehensible attacks on the legitimacy of our elections in order to spread fear and disinformation.” He called for an end to it: “We must all come together to reject these blatant attacks on democracy if we are to remain a country with free and fair elections.”

Martin. What planet did these Republicans come from?
