STEVENS POINT, Wis. — State Senator Patrick Testin, R-Stevens Point, announced his candidacy for lieutenant governor at the Portage County Republican Party fall rally. Testin said his role model is Rebecca Kleefisch, who served one term as lieutenant governor in the Scott Walker administration, both of whom lost office in 2020. Said Tetsin: “She was kind of the jobs ambassador for the state of Wisconsin. I think that’s the approach I want to take on, and then take it a step further.” Workforce development, he said, needs to to take a look at our workforce on create in-state pipelinesfor young people. Testin, age 33, is the first candidate to announce for lieutenant governor. Testin has been interim president pro tempore of the State Senate since 2021. He first went to Madison in 2016 in the State House.
Testin. Holds a political science degree from UW-Steven Point. From 2011 to 2014 managed a mattress store. In recent years he has been a sales rep for M Shiraz wine.
