INVER  GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. – Three bald eagles died after scavaging  on  carcasses of animals that probably had been euthanized with pentobarbital. The eagles were found head down and dead in snow. Ten other eagles were taken to the University of Minnesota Raptor Center. Victoria Hall, the center director, was hopeful those birds would recover. The eagles were found near the Pine Bend Landfill of this south Minneapolis suburb. According to federal and state investigators, someone had disposed of the animal carcasses improperly.
