HOMER, Minn. – A man out for an afternoon walk on Homer Road in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood was attacked by a dog, setting off a canine-human tangle with several police officers.

> First: The injured man was sent to the hospital for gashes:

> Second: A sheriff’s deputy tried to quell the dog but couldn’t. The deputy pulled uta can of mace to de-escalate the confrontation but then fell on the can, whjch exploded.

> Third: A police officer arrived and tasered the dog.

> Fourth: An animal control officer arrived and managed to control the dog.

The dog, a black German shepherd male with white splotches, was taken to the Humane Society while officers tried to locate the owner.
