MINNEAPOLIS — A former Minneapolis police officer charged in the killing of George Floyd, Tou Thao, 34, was released from Hennepin County jail after posting $750,000 bond. Thao is charged with aiding and abetting in Floyd’s death. Thao’s next court appearance: September 11. Two officers facing similar charges, Alex Kueng and Tom Lane, were released earlier on bond. Still in jail pending bond of $1.2 million is Derek Chauvin, who actually pinned Floyd to the ground with a chokehold.
