SPILLVILLE, Iowa — A Minnesota fugitive was arrested near Ludwig County Park in northeast Iowa after a three-day manhunt. Thomas Monson, 39, was taken into custody at 10:30 p.m. on County Road V64 and taken to jail in Decorah. Monson had been sought since fleeing a house in the Eitzen, Minnesota, area as police closed in on a report of a domestic disturbance. Monson fled into the woods with a handgun. The manhunt had shifted to Iowa, south of the border town Eitzen. The Iowa part of the search involved the Winneshiek, Chickasaw and Howard county sheriff’s offices.
