ALBERT LEA, Minn. – Authorities told people living near a train wreck in north Albert Lea were told to stay inside until it can be ascertained whether dangerous chemicals had been released. The train was hauling some tank cars among 28 that left the rails. for sure, many cars were carrying inert cargo such as lumber. Most of the derailed cars were empties. Meanwhile, only emergency personnel were being allowed onto Eastgate Road, the nearest street to the accident.
