WHITEHALL, Wis. –– The Trempealeau County Health Department reported its first death due to the coronavirus. Details were not released, except that the patient had been hospitalized and died of complications. The county has 28,000 people, mostly rural. The largest city, Arcadia, home to an Ashley furniture factory and a Pilgrim’s Pride chicken processing plant, has been a hotbed of coronavirus infections.
