BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. – A Black River Falls man was arrested after a police chase during which two squad cars, one marked, one not, were smashed. Arrested was Andrew E. Mills, 31. It began about 8 p.m. when deputies received a 911 call from Leicht Road east of town. A woman said a suspicious vehicle had chased her husband. Deputies spotted the vehicle, a black Chevy truck, and tried to pull it over. The driver raced off. The high-speed chase went into Black River Falls, where the truck ran stop signs and red lights trying to get away, police said. An unmarked squad car tried to block the truck from downtown area. The truck hit the squad car and kept going. Deputies in another squad car tied again to block the truck. Smash. The second squad car was struck and disabled. A State Patrol eventually sopped the vehicle with a pike strip. The driver run away. With the help of a scent-tracking police dog, deputies found Mills.
