DEXTER, Mo. – Mega-poultry produced Tyson expanded its recall of ready-to-eat chicken products to more brand names than originally announced two weeks ago. Tyson said some of the suspect products may even have been combined into deli dishes at groceries and other outlets. Tyson encouraged consumers to check the FSIS website frequently for updates as the company learns where the chicken ended up: Food Safety and Inspection Service. The problematic chicken, some carrying lysteria bacteria, was butchered, frozen and shipped between April 6 and June 5. These items went nationwide to retailers and institutions, including hospitals, nursing homes, restaurants, schools and military sites. One death has been linked to the chicken.
