MEMPHIS, Tenn. –Almost 800 barges are tethered at the M Bridge on the Mississippi River while engineers try to figure out how to fix the structurally failing M Bridge. The Coast Guard said 26 vessels with 430 barges are quequed to head north and 21 vessels with 341 barges are queued to head south. The barges are carrying crude oil and grain. A serious structural flaw was discovered on the M Bridge Tuesday. The was closed immediately to Interstate 40 traffic and the river underneath.bridge
