ST. PAUL, Minn. — Governor Tim Walz called for the resignation of embattled State Senator Nicole Mitchell, a fellow Democrat. The announcement came after the 2024 Legislature adjourned, meaning that Mitchell’s vote was no long needed for the one-vote Democratic majority in the Senate. Mitchell, from Woodbury, has been charged with burglarizing her stepmother’s home in Detroit Lakes.
