ST. PAUL, Minn. — An attack by President Trump on Governor Walz in the wake of the Minnesota assassination attacks was quickly criticized as cruel, irrelevant and in poor taste. Walz himself responded with restraint. “I wish that President Trump would be a President for all Americans,” Walz said. “This tragedy isn’t about Trump or Walz. It’s about the Hortman family, the Hoffman family, and the State of Minnesota.” Walz said he remained focused himself on helping with healing.
