ST. PAUL, Minn. — Governor Tim Walz, speaking at the Minnesota World War II Memorial, announced that five metro counties have received a federal designation for ending veteran homelessness. Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Scott and Washington have housed more than 2,100 veterans since 2014, Walz said. “I want to be very clear. This is not about placing someone for an evening,” he said. These vets have homes, he said.
