MADISON, Wis. – Cast members from the television political drama “The West Wing” finished a Wisconsin tour as surrogates backing the Harris-Walz presidential campaign. Yes, the troupe included President Josiah Bartlet — err, actor Martin Sheen. With Sheen for stops in Madison, Milwaukee and Waukesha were fellow players Wee Bradley Whitford, Dulé Hill, Mary McCormack and Richard Schiff. “The West Wing” has been hailed as the best television dramatic series in history. NBC ran 154 prime-time episodes over seven seasons. The advance notice for the weekend swing through Wisconsin said the cast would lay out Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz’s plans to lower consumer costs, create more good-paying jobs, and protect fundamental rights.
