LANSING, Iowa —The ferry service between Lansing and Wisconsin points was suspended because of high winds. Depending on the winds, Iowa highway authorities hoped to resume ferry shuttles Thursday. The ferry is the only way to cross the Mississippi River for 6o miles between LaCrosse and Prairie du Chien until a new bridge is completed. In 2027.
