WINONA, Minn. – The Winona hospital, which is anticipating a patient overload because of the Covid resurgence, has applied for National Gard soldiers to supplement its stressed staff. Rachelle Schultz, the hospital chief executive, commended Governor Tim Walz for fast-tracking the soldiers for medical training. She doubts, however, that her Winona hospital is a top state priority. “There are locations that are in more dire situations,” Schultz said in a KWNO interview.
