MADISON, Wis. – In a never-give-up-hope initiative to revive a Trump presidency, the speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly, Robin Vos, has created a special counsel to investigate the state’s 2020 election. Vos has put former state Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman in charge and is paying him $44,000. Vos also is hiring three retired police officers at $3,200 a month to assist. His purpose, Vos said, is “to restore full integrity and trust in elections.” The state Legislative Audit Bureau, controlled by Vos, also is looking into 2020 election procedures, even though there’s no evidence of widespread fraud.

Vos. Legislative leader persistent. Did someone say pugnacious too? A Republican from Burlington. In Assembly since 2004.
