STOCKTON, Minn. – Sheriff’s deputies didn’t know what they were getting into. Just as a caller had said, there was a car parked along County 23 near Brook Drive, downstream from Stockton. The car appeared abandoned with debris strewn around. It was dark, almost 10 p.m., but the deputies scouted around and found Marvella Noel Louise Collins, 48, of Winona. She said that she and a friend were homeless and living in her car. OK, but what about that marijuana bouquet all around? Yup, the deputies found drug paraphernalia in the car and a substance that field-tested positive for meth. They took Collins to jail.
