GILMAN, Wis. – Electricity purveyor Xcel plans to build a a 500-acre solar farm near this Pierce County village 50 miles northeast of Eau Claire. The company said the array will be the largest solar facility in western Wisconsin and produce 74 megawatts. Solar panels will pivot to follow the sun.
