WINONA, Minn. – If you’re driving along the route of the 100-Mile Garage Sale on Saturday and see roadside balloons, be ware. The car in front of you may be bargain-hunters screeching to a stop. Such is the warning of police up and down the Mississippi River from Hastings to Winona on the Minnesota side and from Prescott to Fountain City on the Wisconsin side.

It’s called the 100-Mile Garage Sale but it’s not. From Hastings to Winona is 87 miles. From Prescott to Fountain City is 77 miles. Do the math: 164 miles for anyone making the whole circuit.
