ST. PAUL, Minn. – The chair of the Minnesota Democratic party, Ken Martin, cautioned against reading too much into a new Minnesota poll that has President Biden only slightly ahead of Republican Donald Trump. “Based on what we’re seeing on the ground here with the voters that we’re talking to in every corner of the state right now, President Biden will carry Minnesota,” Martin said. said. The media-sponsored poll gave Biden a 45% to 41% lead with a 3-1/2% margin error. The poll also showed voter enthusiasm among prospective Biden voters was just 31% — half of Trump’s 62%. To that, Martin said Minnesota Democrats are “really excited” about President Biden. “I would just caution anyone on believing too much of the polls right now.” he said. “I tell all of my staff and folks throughout the state to get off the roller coaster — or the ‘poll-er’ coaster, as I call it.”
