ROCHESTER, Minn. – A rural Olmsted County woman told police she was scammed out of $7,000 by a man who identified himself on the phone as Mike Johnson of the FBI. The woman, age 61, said the man told her that the FBI was aware she had been involved in drugs and money-laundering. To clear her name, he instructed the woman to purchase gift cards and then had her read the numbers over the phone. She did.
