WINONA, Minn. — People called police about a man, whom they suspected was high on drugs and who was driving up and down Third Street near downtown. He was honking and yelling at passersby and parking his GMC Yukn mid-street and on the wrong side. This was about 8:35 a.m. Police arrived and recognized a familiar character — the 43-year-old homeless Alexander Craig Larson. Officers gave this account: Larson refused to talk with them and locked himself inside. When one officer unlocked a door through an open window, Larson crawled into the back. Officers dragged him out. To resist cuffing, he dropped to the ground and tucked his arms under his body. Finally cuffed, he was taken to jail. It was a little late for the jailhouse breakfast.
