MADISON, Wis. — A federal grand jury indicted the former Altoona, Wisconsin, school superintendent for sex trafficking. Daniel Peggs, 32, was charged in February and fired as superintendent, but the new indictments, issued Wednesday, expand the original charges. From October 2015 through May 2016, says the indictment, Peggs produced explicit videos as a commercial enterprise, with at least one with a minor younger than 12. The charges cover a period before Peggs was promoted to superintendent. After the new indictment, Peggs was schedule to go on trial October 19 before federal Judge James Peterson in Madison. Prescribed penalties range from 10 years to life.
