WINONA, Minn. – The primary CoVid vaccine distributor in the county, Winona Health, has yet to inoculate state-designated second tier of priority people — adults 65 years and older, especially those with high-risk medical conditions. The first doses went to people who were exposed to CoVid every day because of what they do, who they care for, or where they live. These included nursing homes and other congregate settings where older adults live. Ben Klinger, the county emergency management director, said that Winona Health is almost done vaccinating frontline emergency health workers, public health nurses, and CoVid testers and vaccinators. In an interview on radio station KWNO Ben Klinger explained: “This is a very good thing to start vaccinating our critical infrastructure. It’s our first step to vaccinating everybody.”
