ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Republican Senate majority leader, Paul Gazelka, said he’s not particularly enthusiastic at the moment about reforming marijuana laws. Asked about a House Democratic bill to legalize recreational marijuana, Gazelka said now is not the time. More important, he said, were issues like balancing the state budget and reopening schools and businesses safely. Gazelka, R-East Gull Lake, added, however, that he could be on board with legalization. “It’s not a partisan issue,” he said. “Members of all political parties should work together towards implementing a better regulatory model to address the expensive, inefficient, and unfair prohibition on marijuana.”
