BURNSVILLE, Minn. — The governing board of the Northern Sun athletic conference voted unanimously to delay football and other fall sports due to continuing concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. For football and men’s and women’s cross country, the first games, will be September 26. – roughly a month late. The first volleyball and soccer will be October 2. Commissioner Erin Lind said the conference may order changes as necessary. In other words: Stay tuned. “The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and fans is our top priority, Lind said. “It is our responsibility to take these unprecedented actions to address this public-health crisis.” The board said a decision on spring sports will be made by April.
