WINONA, Minn. – Firefighters responded to a report of a smoking electrical outlet in the 300 residential block of Elm Street but found the smoke was already extinguished. They found scorch marks near the origin of the smoke and determined that the outlet appeared to have arced on the “hot side” and melted the insulation back a few inches on both wires. The tenant was encouraged to contact the owner to check out the situation.
