MADISON, Wis. – The chair of the La Crosse County Republican Party, Bill Feehan, was among 10 Republicans accused of election fraud in a complaint to the state Elections Commission. The charge: Forgery and impersonating public officers by creating and sending false documents to Congress and various state and federal officials in mid-December that claimed Trump had won Wisconsin. If the commission finds probable cause, there could be a criminal investigation. The complaint, filed by the Service Employees International Union, asserts that Feehan and others falsely claimed to be electors for Wisconsin during the presidential election and attempted to cast the state’s 10 votes for former President Donald Trump. According to the complaint, the 10 Republicans gathered in Madison even as the valid state electors were convening at the state Capitol to certify the Wisconsin election results for Democrat Joe Biden. In their separate meeting, the Republicans  created documents that  Trump had won. After signing their names to the fraudulent documents, the complaint alleges, the group of 10 sent them to “several federal and state officials,” including the Wisconsin Secretary of State and the President of the U.S. Senate. The only reasonable inference is that their purpose was induce Congress to credit the wrong candidates with having earned Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes, the complaint alleges.
