WOODBURY, Minn. – Five teenage boys were seriously injured, one fatally, when their speeding car went out of control, hit a tree, and split in two. Killed wasGarrett Bumgarner, 17, who was a passenger the car and ejected. Everyone the car was a student at East Ridge High School in the far eastern Sr. Paul suburb of Woodbury. The four surviving classmates had to be extricated from the car. All were transported to hospitals with what one officer called a “myriad of injuries.” Hospitals called their conditions as serious but stable. The accident was on Settlers Ridge Parkway near Sundance Lane on Woodbury’s east side. Police began receiving 911 calls about the wreck at 11:08 p.m.
