WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University cancelled Homecoming and most related activities this fall —except the football game. The university president, Scott Olson, said that an attempt will be made to reschedule events in the spring. The spring dates, he said, will be determined later as the coronavirus situation unfolds. The home football game scheduled for October 10 Northern State of Iowa will go on, Olson said. Other athletic events scheduled for the weekend will also be played, he said. Cancelled are the Homecoming Parade, the Warrior Waddle, the Athletic Hall of Fame banquet and Distinguished Alumni banquet. Said Olson: “We are doing our part to reduce the spread of this virus and preserve the health and safety of our community.”

Olson: Navigating “the unknowns of this public health crisis.”
