WINONA, Minn. – Firefighters used hoses and foam on a fire in a vehicle inside a garage on West Broadway in the between Sioux and Ewing streets. The fire was coming from the engine compartment and had burned through the hood. How the fire started wasn’t clear. The owner said he drove the vehicle only once a month or so. This time when he cranked the car up, he heard a loud pop and saw smoke. He got out of there called for help. This was about 3:30 p.m. The vehicle was towed.
