Federal agencies recommended a pause in J&J inoculations for them to examine six cases of blood-clotting in Europe after J&J injections. Some of the clotting has been serious but the number is negligible out of 6.8 million administered globally and there being no causal connection yet confirmed. The Minnesota Health Department has not received reports of complications from the J&J shots. Locally Winona County is continuing with Modern vaccine and Winona Health with Pfizer.

If your vaccine was J&J

Winona County administered 100 doses of J&J vaccine last week before further use was paused. What to do if you were given J&J? County Public Health Supervisor Melanie Tatge said: “Monitor for signs and symptoms.  If you develop a headache, abdominal pain, leg pain, or shortness of breath within three weeks after you received your Johnson and Johnson vaccine you should contact your health-care provider.”
