WINONA, Minn. – A homeowner digging for a new mailbox post hit an underground hose and feared he had struck a gas line. Firefighters checked with a four-gas monitor but could find no leak. The homeowner was advised to contact the Xcel utility company for further checking. This was about 8 a.m. in the 1200 block of Lakeview Boulevard, which is toward the bluffs behind Dahl Auto.
