WINONA, Minn. – A Winona woman, Mary Lou Zieman, 53, was arrested and referred for fourth-degree assault on a peace officer near the Riverport Inn n the East End. Police were originally called for a welfare check involving Zieman. A police officer said Zieman dug her fingernails into his forearm, breaking the skin, when he tried to communicate with her. This was about 3:25 p.m.
