LACROSSE, Wis. – A Viterbo University security officer received an award for putting out a fire in the Marian dorm 3-1/2 weeks ago. Kaleb Peterson, responding to an alarm about 2 a.m., found tall flames coming from a trash can in a second-floor lounge. Grabbing a fire extinguisher, Peterson put out the fire to keep it from spreading. No one in the 90-student dorm was hurt. A student was later charged with arson.
