ST. CLOUD, Minn. – A hostage held by a robber inside a bank escaped five hours into a police stand-off. Police Chief Blair Anderson said the hostage pushed her way quickly by the robber and made a run for it about 7:09 p.m. Later a second hostage was allowed to leave because she was having a medical issue. A third hostage was allowed out after agreeing to leave her phone behind so the robber could communicate with those outside of the bank. In all, it was thought the robber had held five hostages, all bank employees.
