WINONA, Minn. – The International Digital Media and Arts Association has chosen Winona State University as its permanent academic home. The campus art collections coordinator, Roger Boulay, called the association “an invaluable asset.” There will be a continuing exhibit of risk-taking, experimental works in new and traditional forms of digital media by internationally celebrated artists at the university’s Laird Norton gallery downtown, Boulay said. The association’s Winona State affiliation begins Thursday with the association’s annual conference and exhibit. The conference chair, prof Davin Heckman, said the association will convene annually in Winona. This will add to the festival landscape that Winona has already fostered, Heckman said.
