MADISON, Wis. – Former governor Tommy, Thompson now acting University of Wisconsin president, resumed campus visits despite pain from surgery after a water-skiing accident 1-1/2 weeks ago. Thompson, 79, had a bicep reattached to the tendon Thursday – a painful procedure. He was governor from 1987 until 2001, then U.S. secretary of human services secretary under President George W. Bush.
