CALEDONIA Minn. – Felony charges have been filed against a former LaCrescent man for a series of threatening phone calls that led to a lockdown of the Houston County Courthouse last month. Brian Krenz, 36, was apprehended in California. Now he’s in the Houston County jail. He faces multiple felony counts of terroristic threats and also gross misdemeanor counts of harassment and disorderly conduct. His conditional bail has been set at $250,000. In one call, according to Sheriff Mark Inglett, Krenz identified himself as a former LaCrescent City Council member. There were calls August 5 threatening to blow up the Houston County Courthouse and shoot an assistant county attorney. There also were calls August 12. Two Caledonia businesses also received threatening calls. One all the threat was to leave La Crescent and Houston County in ruins.
