WINONA Minn. – A woman was beaten badly in a street attack and robbery at mid-afternoon. The woman made it to the Winona hospital emergency room — her nose broken, a tooth chipped, her lips swollen. She told police she was walking near Second Street and Carimona on the East End when a man pulled up to her in a vehicle, got out, and accused her of stealing from him. The man started punching her in the face, she said. Then she said, a woman got out of the car and took hers purse.
