WILLMAR, Minn. — Governor. Tim Walz bagged a pheasant, a rooster, on opening day of the Minnesota season. Walz was on private land in Kandiyohi County as a guest of Kevin Ochsendorf and Brad Hanson. Also on the hunt: George “Corky” Berg, county commissioner; Mateo Engan, of the Willmar High School trap team; and Nathan Rohne, of the Kandiyohi County Pheasants Forever club.

Pheasants out there. So too Walz. Somewhere amid the Kandiyohi County cornstalks.
