ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Northwest Side homeowner let a garbage fire get out of hand but managed to take control with garden hose. By time that firefighters arrived, the fire was out, but the house already was damaged substantially. Damage to siding and windows was estimated at $10,000. There also was lots of smoke damage inside. The fire call was about 1 p.m. The address: 1307 13th Avebue Northwest.
