WINONA, Minn. – In advance of a major storm, Winona Schools locked up its buildings at 5:30 p.m. Spokesperson John Casper said: No practices, no continuing ed, no community events. An exception: Virtual learning. The National Weather Service had warned administrators of “a historic dangerous wind event,” Casper said. There is potential for widespread and prolonged impacts, such as power outages and dangerous travel conditions. It was anticipated, he said, that school will resume on time Thursday morning.
